A Look At Michigan’s Defense For 2018-19

Coming into this season, the defensive unit for Michigan will have high expectations because of the talent and depth that is in place. Don Brown will have the task of handling a defense that has future NFL players like Rashan Gary, Chase Winovich, Devin Bush, Khaleke Hudson, Lavert Hill and David Long. Under Brown, Michigan’s defense has been the best passing defense and third down conversion percentage allowed which is extremely impressive. Expect that trend to continue this season and it would not be surprising to see this unit take it to the next level consider how good they could be. The biggest issue so far is the lack of forcing turnovers and that was a problem for the past two seasons which can put a lot of pressure on a unit that plays very aggressive under Brown. If the defense can force more turnovers and get to the quarterback, they will be a unit to be reckoned with all season long.

Prediction: This unit will live up to the hype and expectations plus they will be the reason why Michigan reaches the Big Ten Championship game this season. Expect big numbers from Gary and Winovich along with Bush and Hudson because they will be very important to Brown’s defense in multiple situations.
