Today the Tigers looked to vamp their second consecutive series win against the Cleveland Indians but the late game rally wasn’t enough to deliver the win with the final score of Cleveland Indians 11 , Detroit Tigers 8.

Justin Verlander didn’t deliver his best stuff today, Verlander pitching only 3.1 innings, gave up 7 earned runs, allowed 9 hits. It’s pretty clear that the Indians have Verlanders number this season.

Verlander’s 331-start streak with 1+k a game snapped as he recorded zero strikeouts. When asking Verlander about today’s game he said;

Sometimes they hit good pitches…Sometimes you’re the windshield, sometimes you’re the bug.
— Justin Verlander

The Tigers were down the entire game with a little 6-run spark in the 9th that ended up not enough to top the Tribe.

James McCann and Nicholas Castellanos each hit homeruns. JD Martinez went 2 for 2 today improving his batting average up to .307.

Tigers have an off day on Monday as they look to bounce back on Tuesday when the red hot San Francisco Giants come into town.

Your starters for the first game in that series Matt Cain 3-7 ERA 5.46 Vs Daniel Norries 4-6 ERA 5.00
