As everyone witnessed, from Thursday’s game at Comerica. Suspensions have been given to those included in a 3 round match of bench clearings. No Really!
For Detroit, everyone expected Cabrera to get the harshest of it all. Receiving a 7-game suspension is a few less than expected for someone to ignite the fight. It doesn’t stop there; Wilson received 4 games and Ausmus 1 game.
Yankees casualties are as follows, Sanchez received a 4-game suspension and Romine was served with 2. According to Jack Curry, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Romine appeal the suspension as he acted in self defense.
It surely doesn’t end there. For all players involved receiving suspensions, there will also be fines added to all 5 individuals. Plus an additional 7 players were also fined.
As we said on our post-game, Cabrera was the instigator. MLB saw it that way and gives him 7 games. Sanchez threw cheap shots so he gets 4.

Nothing good comes from fighting in baseball, but it was good to see some fire in the Detroit Tigers eyes, no doubt it’s been missing this whole season from this roster full of veterans.
