Rashan Gary is an impressive monster on the football field. 2 years ago, as the number 1 recruit in the whole nation, Gary chose Michigan over Clemson. Coming from a big time powerhouse Paramus Catholic in New Jersey, Gary has made his presence felt at Michigan. In his first season as a Wolverine, Gary recorded 23 total tackles, 12 of which were solo. He also recorded half of a sack and got off to a pretty slow start to his career. However, last season, Gary improved greatly. He recorded 5.5 sacks and 58 tackles, 25 of which were solo. Fast forward to the upcoming 2018 season. Many coaching changes and adjustments that should allow Gary to break out and put up his best numbers yet. Starting with Defensive Coordinator Don Brown, Gary is poised to have a breakout year and Brown has been very impressed with Gary, even stating in an interview that Gary could be the “best he’s ever seen”. Gary is a huge part of this Michigan defense that includes Lavert Hill, Khaleke Hudson, and Chase Winovich, all who have the potential to be All-American. As for Gary, my projected stats for him this year are: 9 sacks, 70 tackles, 28 of those tackles being solo. Expect the 2018-19 Michigan defense to have an amazing year, and especially Rashan Gary. As always, Go Blue!
