In the midst of returning to the work week. Monday morning the Lions organization announced they have released TE Tim Wright and WR Keshawn Martin.

According to Tim Twentyman’s official Twitter, it has been confirmed.

Tim Wright came from the Patriots in 2014 where he accumulated 259 yards with 6 touchdowns. To only play a handful of snaps for the Lions in 2015 gaining 77 yards and 2 touchdowns. Outside of that, Wright has been pushed out due to younger talent and better production.

In 2016 Keshawn Martin played just one game with San Francisco after coming to the Lions, but not making the cut for the same reasons as Tim Wright. The Lions organization is seeing a trend of forcing older guys to prove their role with younger talent.
