La’Darius Jefferson is a 3-star 2018 dual-threat quarterback commit to the Michigan State University football team.  Jefferson is the 13th ranked player in the state of Michigan.  This past season, at Muskegon High School, Jefferson led the Big Reds to a division 3 state title victory over Farmington Hills Harrison.  Jefferson was also selected Mr. Football in the state of Michigan this season.  The 3rd straight Michigan Mr. Football to commit to Michigan State.

Jefferson was gracious enough to sit down with Detroit Sports and Entertainment and talk about things via twitter as he gets ready to head to East Lansing this fast fall.

Q: You had a lot of success at Muskegon this year, what was it like to be able to win a state championship in your senior season?

A: It means a lot, it’s just a blessing and it shows all the hard work, sweat, and tears finally paid off.

Q: What drew you to Michigan State?

A: The family vibe and atmosphere, the brotherhood and just the fact that everyone wants to win and compete to get better.

Q: What are some of your goals as you get ready to start your first season at Michigan State?

A: Win a national championship and be the best teammate I can be.

Q: What is your relationship like with Coach Dantonio?

A: Our relationship is good, that’s my guy.

Q: What are some of the challenges that you think you will face stepping up from high school football to the highest level of college football?

A: Getting a feel for college and adjusting to the speed of the game as a whole, that’s about it.

Q: Any message for Spartan Nation before I let you go?

A: We are gonna win the natty.

As you can tell from the answers, Jefferson is ready to hit the ground running when he gets to East Lansing. Spartan Nation should be excited for this young man to take the field in the green and white.  I want to thank La’Darius for giving Detroit Sports Entertainment his time to do the interview and wish him the best of luck in his college football career.
