Grand Rapids Griffins Fan’s can rest a little easier tonight. According to Helen St. James of the Detroit Free Press suggests, Todd Nelson is 99.9% Certain that he will Not be the next Head Coach of the Arizona Coyotes.

Arizona reached out to the Detroit Red Wings, and requested permission to interview the Griffins head coach. Nelson in fact had his interview with the Coyotes organisation. Shortly after Todd told sources felt good about the interview.

Todd Nelson was the Interim head coach for the Edmonton Oilers during the 2014-15 season. Nelson stepped up when Arizona and Dave Tippett bumped heads having philosophical differences, in Late June the both parties decided it was best Tippett step down.

This is Huge for Grand Rapids and their fans if Nelson is in fact right. In his first season as the Grand Rapids Griffins Head Coach, Todd Nelson lead them straight through the post season and winning the 2016-2017 Calder Cup.
