The Detroit Tigers have been arguably one of the worst team’s in MLB all season. But is the Tigers season truly over? With just 32 games remaining, Detroit sits 4th in the American League Central division 17 games out of first place.
It won’t be easy or even sound imaginable but I’m here to tell you Tigers fan’s, there is a chance. With that being said the Motor City Bengles have alot of work to do. And without a doubt will need some help considering there’s only 32 games left on the season.
Besides the talent and power, the Detroit Tigers still have one of the leagues most dangerous roster’s even though they have struggled all season, with the exception of Justin Upton. The pitching is by far the worst I’ve seen it in nearly a decade. Our starting rotation has to get it together for any possibility of snatching up a wildcard.
Not to mention, the Tigers will have to do it without their veteran designated hitter Victor Martinez. Victor was placed on the 10 day disabled list due to an irregular heartbeat. Quite possibly out for the remainder of the season. Detroit is also missing Daniel Norris and Anibal Sanchez.
Detroit is sitting in fourth place, with a record of 56-73 and 17 games out in the division race. I know it is a tall order with 8 teams ahead of Detroit, but the Tigers are only 10.5 games back in the wildcard race. It can be done ladies and gentlemen, with a little praying and this team playing balls to the wall, leaving it all out on the field each and every game.
The newly rivaled New York Yankees hold first, sitting at 70-59 on the season. And division rival Minnesota Twins who hold a record of 67-63 on the season just barley gripping the second wildcard spot. So catching the Twins would be our more realistic scenario.
And it all starts with this man, Tonight Jordan Zimmermann ( 7-11 ) steps to the mound in an interleague Monday night showdown against the Colorado Rockies and the right hander Antonio Senzatela. Game time is scheduled for 8:40 PM Eastern, at Coorsfield.
