The Detroit Tigers have $4.75 Million Dollars at the teams disposal, Intentionally put aside for this beautiful Sunday  July 2nd The Fourth of July Celebration weekend. But it also happens to be the first day of what’s known as International Signing Phase. The Detroit Tigers are wasting no time and getting the teams 2 top prospects out of Venezuela 16 yr old SS Alvaro Gonzalez , and another 16 yr old Middle Infielder Carlos Irigoyen.

Alvaro Gonzalez is a 16 switch hitting SS But can play any middle infield postion, He is 6 ft Tall and 170 pounds. With quick hands and bats from both sides of the plate equally as impressive as the other. Gonzalez is Ranked #39th Internationally. Carlos Irigoyen is also a 16 yr old Middle Infielder, with a similar resume. He bats and throws Right handed. Carlos is 6ft 2  and 160 pounds. And has been compared to power hitter Hernen Perez.

The Tigers are expected to sign 25-30 International prospects, Which as a Detroit Tigers Fan myself. Sounds great and is comforting to know the Tigers organization is focused in rebuilding Detroit’s Minor League teams. All need Middle Infield high profile prospects. Word is Detroit will only be looking at Top of the batting order type of talent. Hitting Line-Ups 1-5 Batters. The Detroit Tigers next stop will be to Cuba.
