After a tough loss to the Clippers where the Pistons were once again plagued by a lazy and lackluster fourth quarter, Detroit looks to bounce back against a Hawks team coming off back to back losses.
The Friday game against L.A. reminded both fans and players that a Griffin led Pistons team is still not infallible. Detroit has struggled all season with playing down to the level of the team leader when he is struggling. For those who had hoped that Avery Bradley leaving would break that spell, the Clippers game was a big disappointment. Blake Griffin struggled and under performed in every aspect of the game. Jameer Nelson and James Ennis should both be available for today’s game, and the Pistons will look for their offense to energize the team throughout the game.
The Hawks come into today’s game having lost seven of their last ten. Home court advantage hasn’t existed for them this season either, as they have a record of 12-17 at Philips Arena. Their key to winning this game lies in their ability to move the ball around to get Dennis Schroeder open and controlling their turnovers. Also, the Hawks will have to find a way to hold back Griffin, since he went off for 26 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds, the last time he met them.
The Hawks will be no match for the highly aggressive duo of Griffin and Drummond. Detroit will win 118-101.
