What to look for in tonight’s Preseason week 2 Matchup with The NYJ
Detroit Lions should steam roll over probably the worst team in the NFL This season the New York Jets.
Detroit’s head coach was asked to grade his Lions performance in the week 1 preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts. It was crystal clear Caldwell was all but happy with his Defense finishing the game with 0 Turnovers and of coarse Matthew Stafford’s Interception in the first drive of the game.
- Matthew Stafford has to come out tonight with his guns ablaze, Surely Stafford will be a much more calm presence in the pocket ,finding his open receivers without forcing the football against the Jets.
- No Doubt Kenny Galladay was very impressive in his first NFL Action of his career, Connecting with Lions 2nd String QB Jake Ruddock for 2 TD’S. Earning some Reps with the Lions 1st string offense this week. In fact we’ll get to see the promising Rookie line up tonight with Matthew Stafford and company. If Galladay can keep progressing moving forward would make this Detroit Lions Offense very dangerous with Golden Tate shredding up opposing Defenses around the NFL.
- There’s no denying the Kerry Hyder Season ending injury with a torn Achilles tendon was a HUGE blow to this Lions Defense. And Ziggy Ansah still on the PUP list. So look for Defensive Ends Cornelius Washington and Anthony Zettle to take the field with Detroits 1st Team offense. And Definitely keep your eye’s out for Rookies, Alex Barret, Jeremiah Voloaga and Patrick O’Connor. They will all be fighting for a starting roll with the Detroit defense all beaten up.
Lastly but most Importantly The Lions Run Game has to stay Healthy All season. Ameer Abdullah looks to have his Explosion out of the backfield in full effect. With a Healthy Ameer run game and Riddick’s dominance and great hands catching the football filling in nicley last season when Abdullah went down with his own season ending injury.
