It’s no secret the Lions defense have already found themselves knee deep with injuries before the regular season has even started. Jordan Hill has officially become a victim, Lions placed Hill on the IR this morning with a Bicep injury.
Honestly at this point, it seems like the Detroit Lions have had a problem staying healthy at all the past few seasons.
So it should come to no surprise that Quinn signed former Georgia Bulldog transfer, and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga stand-out Defensive Tackle Derrick Lott. He spent 3 season’s at Georgia but was Red shirted in 2009. Lott only played in 10 games, In 2010 Derrick played 3 games and only 2 games in 2011. He did manage to get 6 Unassisted tackles and 4 Assisted tackles.
Derrick transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2012 to gain more play time. Lott got a much better shot to prove himself in Chattanooga,
In 2014 Lott was a All Southern Conference Player, and was Invited to the 2015 NFL combine. Derrick Lott went undrafted but was signed to the Tennessee Titans practice squad. In 29 Games Derrick Lott only started 14. No doubt Lott was all in when called upon, Derrick accumulated 114 Tackles (20 Tackles for loss), 8 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries.
Since hitting the NFL in 2015, Derrick Lott has played for 4 different organization’s making the Detroit Lions his 5th home. Throughout his 3 seasons Lott has played on the Titans and Tampa bay’s practice squads in 2015, and the Philadelphia Eagles and the Oakland Raiders practice squads in 2016.
